Wedding Philosophy

Congratulations on planning for that special day! Isn't it fun? Well, yes but I know from past experience that it is a lot of work to plan for such an event. I view my role as a photographer not only to take great pictures, but also to try to make the day as easy or stress-free as possible for you. I will "guide" you through the day, making suggestions to you when it's appropriate and taking candids when you're least expecting it.

I have done over 700 weddings in my career, which started back in 1972. Very early on in that career, I adopted a photographic style that I call "Complimentary Photography".

My philosophy is one of being there when you need me and fading into the background when you need the time with your friends. I will capture the event chronologically for you. (Some people call this "photojournalism".) I will also get those "formal" shots on the altar, as well as many candids as the day progresses.

Plus, I feel that one of the most important things I can do for you is to get good photos of your friends and family. I realize that sometimes a wedding is the ONLY time you have all your family together. So it is very, very important to me to capture this moment for you!

On that very special day, I want to be a friend. I will be sensitive to your needs and very aware of your dreams for a perfect day. On that day, there will be nothing more important to me than to make it great for you. Every photo I take, every move I make will be done thinking about what YOU would want. There's nothing more important to me on that day than to make you happy period! I have packages ranging from $1025-7995.00. However, I almost always include the negatives and proofs. This can save you a considerable amount of cost when it comes to reprints and enlargements. (See "Apples to Apples") Please call to set an appointment. Thank you.

Wedding Packages

APPLES to APPLES

When comparing photographers, ask yourself if their "package" really has everything you could possibly want. It usually doesn't. There's a reason. Do these photographers keep "your" negatives? If they do, it could cost you...A LOT!

Most brides and grooms do not realize that friends and relatives always ask for additional prints. This happens so much that most photographers and studios (that hang onto your negatives) BANK on this fact. It is a FACT that when the photographer or studio (that retains the negatives) books the wedding with you, they project an additional income of at least 30-50% higher than the cost of the package coming their way AFTER the wedding. This is ABOVE and BEYOND the initial cost of your package.

Since most people only get married once, this is a trap they don't realize until it is too late!

Compare this; If you had your own negative, how much would a photo-lab charge you for an 8 x 10 enlargement? Five...or six dollars? Call around and find out! But...if you wanted an 8 x 10 enlargement made by a photographer/studio who has the negative, how much do they charge? $20, $25, $30 or even more?

It doesn't take long to spend hundreds more on your photography with this kind of mark-up. Don't let yourself be caught in a "negative trap". Negotiate a price with that photographer/studio to get the negatives into your hands (where they belong). Insist upon it being a term of the contract. You have that right.

If they won't agree to your terms, why should you agree to theirs?

It has always been the philosophy of this studio that the client deserves, and has the right to the negatives. The client supplies the funds to buy the film, therefore, they deserve to get the film after it is processed.

In ALL of our packages, you get the negatives. Sometimes you get them immediately, and sometimes it's right after we get some enlargements or reprints made for you which are part of the package. But you WILL get them.

You deserve them.
